Children’s
Ministry – Birth Through 6th Grade

Cradle
Roll
For all baptized children, birth through 3 years of age.
Families receive a monthly newsletter filled with parenting
tips and faith formation ideas.

Sunday
School — For children age 3 through 6th grade
- Sunday mornings from 9:45 — 10:35 a.m., Setember
through May. We use the Rotation Workshop model that engages
learners in fun and interactive ways. Weekly lessons include
games, art, drama and science to teach Biblical concepts.
- Christmas program — each year,
all of the children participate in a program to share the
story of Jesus’ birth with our congregation.
- Vacation Bible School — held each
summer for one week. VBS participants experience Bible stories
through crafts, songs, games and movies.

Confirmation
Ministry
Youth in 7th & 8th Grade

Sunday
School — each week from 9:45-10:35 a.m.,
September through May, in the Youth House behind the church.
Age relevant lessons that apply Biblical concepts to today’s
living.

Wednesday
Night Confirmation Classes — weekly
sessions where learners dig deeper into the Apostles’
Creed, 10 Commandments, Sacraments, The Bible in preparation
to be confirmed as an adult member of the church. Adult volunteers
serve as small group guides to mentor the youth in their faith
journey.

Service
Opportunities — 7th &
8th graders serve as Acolytes during worship services. They
have made “Blessing Blankets”, made Easter baskets
for shut-ins, served Coffee fellowship and a variety of other
activities to give of themselves to help others.

Retreats
and Trips —The group
attends a Fall Retreat at Lutheran Outdoor Ministries (L.O.M.C.)
in Oregon, IL and a Spring Retreat to the Youth Encounter, Wisconsin
Dells Youth Quake. 8th graders go to Confirmation Camp each
summer at L.O.M.C.

High
School Ministry
Youth in 9th –12th Grade

S.P.A.M.
— an acronym for St. Paul A.M. for the group that meets
each Sunday morning. From 9:45 — 10:35 a.m. The group
discusses relevant issues from a Biblical perspective.

S.N.A.C.
— acronym for Sunday Night After Church. High school youth
meet on the first and third Sunday nights for food, fellowship,
faith formation, guest speakers or service projects.

Retreats
and Trips — the high school youth attend
the ELCA National Youth Gathering every three years. The group
selects a mission trip destination in years between the national
gathering. They participate in Service and Leadership Training
Camp at L.O.M.C. in the summer.

Education

Forum — Pastor Judi leads this group each
Sunday from 9:45–10:35 a.m. in the Lounge. The group discusses
a variety of topics, books and faith issues.

Bible
Study — Thursday morning, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
in the Lounge. Text studies with discussion.

Stepping
Stones
A faith formation program that intentionally
brings children and their parents together to build ties to the
church and each other while experiencing the faith stepping stones
along the journey toward a mature faith.

Christian
Education Congregational Events

Rally
Day — In September each year begins our
year of Christian education. A special worship service, activities,
and lunch are enjoyed by families and friends.

Family
Advent Night — An intergenerational learning
and fellowship event that kicks off the Advent season.

Easter
— A special Coffee Fellowship time and an Easter Egg Hunt
for the children.
