Staff Meeting - 10:30a - The answer phone will pick up during this time. Please leave a message and we will return your call.

* Epiphany - The word "epiphany" comes from a Greek verb (epiphainw) which means to show and in the passive voice to show oneself or make an appearance. The Greek noun (epiphaneia) means appearing or appearance.

On the day of Epiphany, January 6, the church celebrates the revelation of Christ to all nations as represented by the magi who come to worship Jesus. The church calendar recognizes the season of Epiphany from January 6 until the last Sunday before Ash Wednesday which is celebrated as the Transfiguration of our Lord. The length of the season of Epiphany varies and is determined by working backwards through the season of Lent from the moveable date for the celebration of Easter.

Grace Matters - Did you know that the ELCA has a weekly radio program? It’s called Grace Matters and is broadcast by over 180 radio stations. The 30 minute program is hosted by Pastor Peter W. Marty of St. Paul Lutheran in Davenport, IA. Unfortunately no local radio station in the Sauk Valley area carries the broadcast. However, it is available to you via the internet. Go to the links page (click here). There you will find a link to the Grace Matters website. You can choose any program of the past few weeks. It will play in the background and you can continue to use your computer for other things. It's great listening while at home, at work, or traveling.
