What's Going On


Our Prayers   We remember in our prayers those serving in the military at home and abroad, especially Tom Staples Jr., Matt Rodriguez, Jim Hochstetler, & Patrick Miller.


The YWCA is offering free introductory computer workshops each Tuesday in September. If interested see the posted flyer on the kiosks. To reserve a spot or to find out more, call 815-625-0333.

 

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Amboy is celebrating its 140th Anniversary this year. They are ending their year-long activities with a Worship Service beginning at 9:00 a.m. on September 19, with Bishop Gary_Wollersheim preaching. There will also be dinner at 12:00 p.m. held at the Amboy Community Center on that Sunday. Tickets for the dinner are $11.00 each and must be purchased in advance. See the posted letter on the kiosks for more information.

 

Can You…Read a Book…Write a Letter…Sit and Hold Someone’s Hand…Listen or Just Be There. If so, then you could be a Hospice Volunteer. Hospice of the Rock River Valley has a need for volunteers to work with patients and families. Training will be provided beginning September 15. To make a difference in someone’s life, call Judy_Jellerichs at 815-288-3673.

August Food Pantry needs: please bring in boxed cereal, frozen meats, canned meats and boxed dinners. Your cash donations are always welcomed. Place items in the baskets located by the entrances.
