ALL MEMBERS TAKE NOTE!!!!!
A new opportunity is ready for you! For years, only council members were head ushers, and only council members helped with the distribution of communion. There was probably a good reason for that at one time, but we have decided it should be open to any member who would be interested and willing to do this on occasion. If you are interested, please call the church office and let Sue or Pastor Judi know. We will be having a “training” session for old and new ushers soon, and also for folks who might be willing to help give communion. These are not difficult ministries, there aren’t any “meetings” other than the training, and it’s one way we can all participate.
PLEASE CONSIDER THISOPPORTUNITY! There is a sign-up sheet posted on the bulletin board by the water fountain in the Social Hall.
The 2012 Coffee Fellowship and Altar Flowers sign-up sheets are posted. Please take time this morning to sign-up. The cost of the center vase is $35; the two side vases are $15.00 each. There is a $5.00 delivery charge added to each order. Or you are free to purchase them on your own and bring them into church.
Consider donating to thePADSHomelessCenter. All the following items are on their need list, gift cards to any of the local stores are also welcomed. This allows the director and board members to purchase items that are needed. The list includes: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, underwear(store pkg.S-M-L men and women), socks, sweatpants, sweatshirts, gloves, hats, scarves, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, aluminum foil and plastic storage containers with lids (cool whip, butter, etc.) Please place these items in the box marked PADS donations in the east entryway.
Batter Up! It won’t be long till we hear that wonderful set of words!St. John’sis looking for softball players to play in the church league this summer. Some of their members are off to other places in the world, some have kids growing up and are unable to commit, and some are getting a day or two past the time of participatory sports. Perhaps a joint team would fill the nitch? If you would like more information, please call or emailGarySmith. 815-625-3015,work; 815-380-5068, home. Email: gas06@wmccinc.com.
February Food Pantry needs: please bring in ravioli, spaghetti, spaghetti O’s, canned fruit, canned creamed soups, and paper products. Your cash donations are always welcomed. A great need this month is canned creamed soups and paper products. Place items in the baskets located by the entrances. HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH are asked to bring one of the bolded items or cash each week as your Sunday school offering!
