FAITH ALIVE CONFIRMATION
Confirmation classes have continued every Sunday morning, though
we have had a number of interruptions as the congregation had forums
in preparation for the March 7th vote to consider leaving the ELCA.
Thank you to parents Tim Zollinger and Karla Mellott for leading
classes on Sundays when Pastor Judi needed to be elsewhere!
The classes have finished their study of the Ten Commandments and
we are now beginning the study of the Lord’s Prayer, using
as usual Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. Students continue
working on their sermon note requirements and have participated
in midweek Lenten services. Wednesday evening gatherings resume
April 14th.
Proceeds from the confirmation class bake sale on March 21st totaled
$130. This will be used to help cover costs for Easter baskets for
some of our homebound members.
On March 26th, we will join the youth of St. John’s and Immanuel
Lutheran church for a lock-in at St. John’s. Nine students
from our congregation have chosen to participate.
