Mission Statement for the Children, Youth & Family Ministry -

“Educating, Equipping and Encouraging our youth
to become  life-long followers of Jesus Christ.”

ELEMENTARY AND JR. HIGH

Journeyland

The Lord’s Prayer and the Lord’s Supper will be the next rotation Sunday school lessons starting on Feb. 28.

Jesus taught us how to pray in Luke 11:2. One of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: And the Lord’s Prayer was given.

Read about the Last Supper in Luke 22:7. How the Festival of Unleavened Bread arrived, when the Passover lamb is sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John ahead and said, “Go and prepare the Passover meal, so we can eat it together.”

Stepping Stones - The following 3rd Graders meet with Pastor Judi and Dawn Waite to learn more about the Bible. On Valentine’s Day they each received their very own Bible, to read and grow in their faith.

FAITH ALIVE CONFIRMATION
Our last Wednesday night activity with both students and parents occurred on February 10, with a visit to the Firehouse of God. Seventeen students and their parents heard a presentation from Pastor Brian Tribley about that ministry site, which includes providing lunches daily for those who are hungry as well as extended-time housing for those who are in transition from being homeless to being able to live on their own. The staff at Firehouse of God aids residents in finding employment and permanent housing as well as helping with transportation to appointments. Residents are required to attend Bible study and worship as well. Our confirmation students and parents learned a lot about this ministry which
St. Paul’s supports with our benevolence dollars. Students attend these “outings” to experience the variety of ways Christians might choose to put faith into action. We look forward to a return visit to the FOG during warmer months, so we might actually see the residences which are provided and have a prayer service of our own in their sanctuary.
The Confirmation Class will be having a Bake Sale on March 21, between services. Come and purchase lots of goodies!
